The all-new BMW X4 made its world debut this morning at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show featuring the flashy Flamenco Red color in the X4 M40d guise. At least among the production cars, the new BMW X4 M40d G02 at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show is probably the most important premiere with Bavarian roots.
The X3-based SUV Coupé, after more than 200,000 first-generation units, opens the second chapter in X4 history, relying on a distinctive design. If the front still remains extremely close to the X3, from the A-pillar onward, the X4 displays an independent design philosophy. In addition to the coupe-like roofline, the completely unique design of the tail lights is striking.Compared to its predecessor, the new BMW X4 G02 is 8.1 centimeters longer, offers 5.4 centimeters more wheelbase and is 3.7 centimeters wider. While the former dimensions have all grown, the height of the roofline has been lowered by 3 millimeters. Also, the position of the license plate has been moved from the tailgate to the rear apron, so the confusion between the two generations is virtually eliminated. As is customary with BMW, the weight is distributed between the two axles in the 50-5o ratio, and depending on the engine, the unladen weight could be reduced by up to 50 kilograms, despite the larger dimensions. The xDrive system distributes the power fully variable on all models and prefers the rear axle to deliver the driving experience of a particularly powerful rear-wheel drive BMW.

Standard on board is the Performance Control, which ensures optimum power distribution between the rear wheels. The BMW X4 M40d G02 completes the standard sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Responsible for this is, in addition to the xDrive all-wheel drive and the standard eight-speed automatic from ZF, the B57 TwinTurbo six-cylinder inline engine, which has 326 hp and 680 Newton meters of torque.
